Au Pair Participation Requirements
Requirements to be an American Au Pair include:
➤ Be between the ages of 18 to 30
➤ Be legally qualified to work in the United States
➤ Agree to provide their host family for a minimum of 3 Months
➤ Adhere to the American Au Pair Program Au Pair Agreement
➤ Sign an Employment Agreement with their host family
➤ Have at least 200 hours of documented previous childcare experience
➤ Must be CPR and Emergency Procedure Certified
➤ Speak English
➤ Be a secondary school graduate or equivalent
➤ Assist their host family’s children with schoolwork and educational activities
➤ Be in good physical and mental health
➤ Pass a criminal background check
➤ Provide verifiable childcare and personal references
➤ Have a driver’s license
➤ Have medical insurance

➤ $100 Interview Fee – Make Payment
To care for children under the age of two, au pair candidates must have at least 200 hours of previous childcare experience with children under the age of two.
Caring for Infants
Agent Au Pair has infant-care au pairs who care for babies up to 24 months. Infant-care au pairs must have 200 hours of caring for children under the age of 2 prior to arrival with their host family. Individuals who do not qualify or is not interested in caring for children under 2, must have 6 months of childcare experience qualify for the au pair program. This experience can include babysitting, working in a school or day care, or prior au pair/au pair experience. Au Pairs must provide verifiable childcare references, which cannot be from family members. References must list the ages of the children cared for, the dates cared for and the duties performed during these experiences.
